On behalf of actors Danny Glover and Matt Damon, we at Carrie Productions and Progressive United Action Association, Inc. join the rest of the nation as it mourns the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The American spirit of giving has always been indomitable, and it remains as such. Resolutely we move forward, uplifting those in need -- at home and abroad. Therefore, we are asking for your support for The Sunrise Children's Village, which is featured in the award winning HBO documentary My Khmer Heart featuring a true heroine, Geraldine Cox. Moved by Ms. Cox's compassion and dedication, Mr. Glover and Mr. Damon along with Ben Affleck, Casey Affleck, Edward Norton, Don Cheadle and Rene Russo are inviting celebrity friends and entertainment executives to help raise money for The Sunrise Children's Village. With the hope of inspiring and educating high potential, low opportunity children, Ms. Cox believes improving their surroundings will create a substantial impact on their self-esteem. Ms. Cox plans include rebuilding, and improving, the computer school, English and sewing classrooms, developing a music and dance program and restoring medical surgery facilities. Further projects include an organic farm, new dormitories, sanitary bathrooms, and laundry facilities. The goal is that The Sunrise Children's Village will serve as a prototype for future orphanages in Cambodia and surrounding areas. We know this is quite an undertaking for one individual. And so, Mr. Glover, Mr. Damon, Carrie Productions, HBO, and P.U.A.A.I. joined together to assist Ms. Cox.
